Flotilla 64 of the Coast Guard Auxiliary is located in Monterey. Its 25 members are part of a National organization of about 35,000 that was established in 1939. The Auxiliary is administered by the Coast Guard and all of its activities are approved by the Coast Guard. The Auxiliary teaches boating classes, examines recreational vessels, uses its personally-owened vessels, aircraft and radios in support of Coast Guard activites and performs other tasks not directly associated with law enforcment or military operations. |
