Description
Celebrating 33 years! Customers enjoy the friendly and intimate atmosphere of the Sunday morning Salinas market. Unique to this market is Pang Lee, a Hmong farmer who grows the best selection of fresh Asian vegetables available in the area. As of May 4, the market is returning to Hartnell College after a 10-year hiatus during which time it has been held at the Northridge Mall. The farmers market will be located at Hartnell College, at 156 Homestead Road in Salinas. There is ample parking in lot 4 on the corner of Homestead and West Alisal.
This market is located in the heart of the Salinas valley. Salinas’ nickname is “The Salad Bowl of the World” because it grows more lettuce than any other city in the US. In fact, Monterey County, which includes Salinas, grows more produce than any other county in the U.S: 80% percent of the nation's lettuce, 50% percent of the cauliflower and mushrooms, 25% percent of the celery, 60% of the broccoli and 90% of the artichokes. You'll see all of this beautiful produce at the Salinas market.
